The Heritage Scholarship Fund
Supporting Tomorrow's Veterinarians
Since 1996, tuition for residents and non-residents has nearly tripled. Today resident DVM students are paying more than $20,000 per year and non-residents more than $50,000 per year. Most WSU veterinary student are in debt when they leave, owing an average of more than $100,000.
It's a sobering reality that veterinarians entering the profession today will have a difficult time positioning themselves to buy into an existing practice in the next 10 years — a time when retiring veterinarians will need them most.
The Heritage Scholarship Fund is a way for alumni to give back to their school, making WSU's College of Veterinary Medicine the foremost alumni - giving institution in the state's higher education system. Giving to the Heritage Scholarship Fund is also a way for friends of the college to make meaningful contributions to excellence in veterinary education.
