Frank and Marge Crowley Endowments
Dr. Frederick Hunter
Dr. Brian Hunter
Dr. Brian Hunter (WSU '79), a small animal veterinarian in Spokane and his father Dr. Frederick Hunter (WSU '45) provided care for generations of pets belonging to Marge and Frank Crowley. The Crowleys were so touched by the compassionate care provided by Brian and his father that when Marge passed away in 2008 she chose to honor the commitments of the Hunter family through an estate gift of over $600,000 to the WSU College of Veterinary Medicine.
This gift supports three programs:
- Frank Crowley Scholarship Endowment
Funds are used to support first year DVM students based on need and merit, but may also be used to support a student in dire financial need in any DVM class. Candidates must express an intent to enter a field that will enhance the health of companion animals.
- The Crowley Golden Retriever Endowment Funds are used to defray the cost of medical treatment for animals whose owners cannot afford necessary treatment. Apply for Crowley Golden Retriever Endowment funds through the Good Samaritan Fund.
- Marge Crowley Canine Cancer Research Endowment Funds go to support canine cancer research.
